JPayne Organization To Improve Bienville Square

Mobile’s JPayne Organization LLC has been awarded a $3.2 million contract by the City of Mobile for improvements to Bienville Square, Call News reports. The project includes improvements to the fountain and amenities, according to Carol Hunter of the Downtown Mobile Alliance. Hunter added that the newly refurbished fountain will have a basin built, the pads around the fountain will be replaced with a seat wall for people to be seated, concrete paving will be replaced by blue stone and granite, and walkways will be changed and expanded to allow more people to stand in the square. Finally, intensive landscaping will provide year-round color. Work is expected to start by the end of the month and be complete by January 2024.
