Mobile, USACE Break Ground On District Headquarters

This week, the City of Mobile and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) hosted a groundbreaking ceremony celebrating the construction of the USACE, Mobile District Headquarters coming to the site of the Civic Center in downtown Mobile. The new 190,000-ft2 facility will relocate the USACE, Mobile District personnel from the district’s existing building at 109 Saint Joseph Street in Downtown Mobile. Erecting a new, state-of-the-art headquarters will accommodate USACE’s workforce growth projections. This project is the first new development in the city’s Civic Center Redevelopment Plan. The project will be developed by FD Stonewater, a Virginia-based real estate firm.
