Baldwin Prep Expands Offerings

Baldwin Preparatory Academy in Loxley is beginning the school year with expanded career opportunities, new industry credentials and the arrival of 233 incoming 10th grade students. In health science, students can now take a new Nursing 112 dual-enrollment course and participate in a pharmacy technician program, combining classroom instruction with hands-on training to students while they earn college credit and industry credentials. Also new to the curriculum is a drone program with licensing and programming opportunities, allowing students to develop skills in drone flight, sensor data and autonomous technology. Beginning in September, the cosmetology program will be open to the public every Monday, giving students real-world experience working with clients while preparing for careers as licensed cosmetologists or barbers. The academy recently graduated its first class to complete all three years of high school there. During the 2025-2026 academic year, 564 students participated in dual enrollment through Coastal Alabama Community College and earned 106 industry-recognized credentials.
