Bayside Academy Teacher Honored

DAPHNE, Ala. — Spanish teacher Yohanna Jimenez’s presentation has been selected as the “Best of State” by the Alabama World Language Association, Gulf Coast Media reported. A teacher at Bayside Academy in Daphne, Jimenez will represent Alabama at the Southern Conference on Language Teaching (SCOLT) conference in Norfolk, Virginia, on March 31-April 2. SCOLT is also honoring Jimenez at the conference as the 2022 Founders Award recipient. “The SCOLT Board of Directors presents the Founders Award when deemed appropriate to a member who has made significant contributions to SCOLT over the years and who exemplifies the spirit and ideals of the founders of the organization,” the organization explained.
