CACC Highlights Marine Tech Success

Coastal Alabama Community College (CACC) said its popular Marine Technology career program, which it launched last year in partnership with Yamaha Motors, has led to increased opportunities for many of the college’s students. Following Matthew Judy becoming the Foley-based program’s full-time instructor in spring 2022, the number of enrollees spiked at 37, up 900% from the previous semester. The program lasts for two semesters, in which students earn industry-recognized credentials through Yamaha’s Introduction to Outboard Systems certification. Dual enrollment is a large part of the Marine Tech program, with high school students accounting for at least 60% of enrollees.
