Construction To Begin Soon On Career Tech School

ROBERTSDALE, Ala. — Gulf Coast Media reported that approximately 70 acres are currently being cleared and prepared for Baldwin County Public School System’s construction of a standalone career tech high school in Robertsdale. To be a combined middle school, high school and college concept, it will provide students with all of their core classes, while also offering on-the-job training in the industry of their choice. It will have dual enrollment for career tech courses and core classes, and has been designed to simulate going to work and industry. It will also have multiple collaboration and large, open spaces. Industry stakeholders will be encouraged to go to the school to work with the students weekly to build a relationship with them and teach specialized courses. Students will be in charge of their own scheduling and attending weekly team meetings, which can include topics such as safety, future planning, innovation of upcoming projects and how to improve as a workforce. It is to open in August 2024.
