Fairhope High Ranked No. 9 in State

U.S. News & World Report ranked Fairhope High School No. 9 in Alabama in its 2021 rankings, AL.com reported. Rising from No. 12 in 2020, the school reports 1,689 students enrolled, a poverty level of 12% (direct certified) and 45% (free or reduced lunch eligible). Other numbers are from 2019: total school-level spending per student was $8,721, and local school-level spending per student (included in that figure) was $1,769. The rankings include data on nearly 24,000 public high schools in 50 states and the District of Columbia. In addition to traditional high schools, they encompass charter; magnet; and science, technology, engineering and math-focused schools. They focus on college readiness, reading and math proficiency, reading and math performance, underserved student performance, college curriculum breadth and graduation rates.
