Flight Works Alabama Hosts Teachers From 36 Schools

MOBILE, Ala. — Teachers from 36 schools in six states attended professional development training for the We Build It Better’s science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) curriculum on July 18-22 in Mobile. The middle school teachers from Alabama, California, Florida, Kansas, Mississippi and Wisconsin gathered at Flight Works Alabama to enhance their proficiency in the STEAM learning system, which Flight Works Alabama calls “unique.” Industry-grade tools and equipment and manufacturing and industry terminology were some of the components used to begin or continue their journey to become subject-matter experts in business and manufacturing concepts and practices. A total of 81 schools in five states taught We Build It Better in the 2021-2022 academic year, and another 27 schools in six states are adopting the program for the 2022-2023 school year. Eighteen of those schools are in Mobile and Baldwin counties.
