Locals Named State Teacher Of The Year Finalists

The Alabama State Department of Education has named 16 teachers who could win the Alabama Teacher of the Year program award, AL.com reports. Finalists were chosen from more than 155 teachers across the state. In May, one will be named Alabama Teacher of the Year and spend the school year serving as a full-time education ambassador. Two local teachers are up for the award. Elizabeth Eubanks Von Hofe of Spanish Fort Elementary School in the Baldwin County School System is District 1 Elementary Teacher of the Year, and Jennifer Ann Asberry of Council Traditional School in the Mobile County School System is District 5 Elementary Teacher of the Year.
