MAC Opens Art Show Submissions For Higher-Education Students

The Mobile Arts Council (MAC) has announced it will sponsor the biennial Five show, a juried art competition including work from Bishop State Community College, Coastal Alabama Community College, Spring Hill College, the University of Mobile and the University of South Alabama. Three monetary prizes will be awarded. Participants, who must be enrolled during any part of the 2025-2026 academic year, may submit up to three pieces through March 13 created while attending their current school. Admission is not limited to art majors. There is a $25 admission fee for up to three pieces, which includes a one-year MAC artist membership. The Five exhibit will hang in the MAC Gallery at Room 1927 at 6 South Joachim Street in Mobile from April 2-30. A public reception will be held during the LoDa Artwalk on April 10, where “Best of Show,” “Second Place,” “Third Place” and three “Honorable Mention” prizes will be awarded.
