Orange Beach Names Assistant Superintendent

Orange Beach City Schools has announced that Dr. Mary Catherine Law, current principal of Orange Beach Elementary School (OBES), has been named the district’s next assistant superintendent. Law will complete the current school year in her current role and begin her new one in July. She served as principal of OBES for the past five years, leading it through a period of growth and achievement. Under her leadership, OBES was named a 2021 National Blue Ribbon School, earned a 99 on the Alabama State Report Card, was recognized as a Top 25 School in Alabama through the Legislative School Performance Recognition Program, received the Attorney General’s Silver Model of Enhanced School Safety Award and was designated an Ocean Guardian School. During this time, the school also achieved an extraordinary milestone as the only school to have two consecutive years in which 100% of third-grade students were reading at or above grade level. She will support districtwide initiatives focused on student achievement, instructional excellence and continued growth across the school system.
