Saraland, Gulf Shores And Satsuma Get “A”s

AL.com reports that three local school districts earned an “A” grade on the recently released Alabama State Department of Education’s report cards. The Saraland, Gulf Shores and Satsuma city districts were among the 24 of 139 school districts and six charter schools that were graded. Statewide, Saraland was tied for fourth, with 94 points, a graduation rate of 95.9%, a 26.6% student poverty level and 3,220 enrolled. Gulf Shores City was in a four-way tie for 10th, with 92 points, a graduation rate of 95.5%, an 11.7% student poverty level and 2,268 enrolled. Since the district opened in 2019, this is the first time it has been graded. Finally, Satsuma was in a six-way tie for 19th, with 90 points, a graduation rate of 95.7%, a 41.7% student poverty level and 1,485 enrolled.
