Scholarship Gala Coming To Orange Beach

The Hitting the Note Scholarship Gala is taking place on July 20 at 4:30-9 p.m. at the Perdido Beach Resort in Orange Beach. It will have food, drinks, silent and live auction items, and performances by hit songwriters Dean Dillon and Neil Thrasher, who will sing the songs they wrote and tell the stories behind them. Proceeds will go to the Joe Gilchrist Music Fund, which provides scholarships for youth in Alabama who want to pursue a career in music. The agenda includes a cocktail hour and silent auction bidding until 5:30 p.m. Dinner then begins and lasts until 7 p.m., when Dillon and Overstreet perform. The performance will end at 8:30, when the live auction will begin.
