Construction Starts On Foley Library/Community Center

The City of Foley recently kicked off construction of its new library and community center at 230 East Orange Avenue. The building will be almost 40,000 ft2, approximately twice the size of the current facility next to City Hall. It will have a meeting space, an auditorium, computer labs and study rooms. The first floor will include a children’s area, a multipurpose room, computers and an activity room. There will also be a separate area for teens. The second floor will include the adult section and computer labs. Additional facilities slated for the new library include a science, technology, engineering and mathematics laboratory and dedicated spaces for programs such as special-needs activities.
