Dauphin Island Breaks Ground On Community Center

Ground was broken on Dauphin Island’s new community center on December 10, UTV44 reported via WPMI. Construction at 412 Lemoyne Drive is expected to take up to a year to complete. The building will hold nearly 13,000 ft2 and include a stage, kitchen, restroom facilities and two meeting rooms with seating for 100 and 350, respectively. Those at the ceremony included Mayor Jeff Collier, Congressman-elect Jerry Carl, Dauphin Island Foundation Chairman Bill Edwards, Michael Delaney, Dauphin Island Chamber of Commerce President Tricia Kerr and PSE Designs, Inc. President/Structural Engineer William “Bill” Sealy.
