Jackson Chosen As Chief Of Operations For Mobile Police

Mobile Chief of Police Paul Prine has appointed Major William R. Jackson his second in command, Mayor Sandy Stimpson recently announced. Jackson’s appointment followed a thorough review and screening of internal candidates preceding his promotion to chief of operations for the Mobile Police Department. Jackson is a 26-year department veteran and has gained experience in many areas of its operations throughout his career. For the past three-and-a-half years, he has served at the rank of major, leading field operations and investigative operations divisions. He has also supervised or commanded in the areas of patrol, criminal investigations, traffic safety, narcotics and vice. For several years, he also worked as a task force officer on the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s Drug Task Force.
