MAA Becomes Owner, Operator Of St. Elmo Airport

MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. — The Mobile Airport Authority (MAA) is now owner and operator of St. Elmo Airport in Mobile County, according to the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce. The recently finalized deal includes 738 acres with a 3,998-ft runway, an aircraft parking apron with 25 tie-downs, two hangars and an operational fuel farm. Alabama State Representative Chip Brown of Mobile commented,  “I am looking forward to [MAA] providing quality leadership and management of the St. Elmo Airport.
