Mobile Area Gains New ALEA Polygraphers

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), its State Bureau of Investigation gained five new polygraph examiners last week. The new examiners will be located in the Mobile, Montgomery, Sheffield and Huntsville areas. These examiners participated in the American International Institute of Polygraph 10-week course and are to receive temporary licenses, which enable them to conduct polygraph examinations for pre-employment screenings, as well as criminal investigations. They will use their temporary licenses during a six-month internship with a senior examiner monitoring their examinations. Upon completion of the internship, they will be required to take the state board’s exam for permanent licenses.
