Mobile Authorizes Regions Arena Purchases

The Mobile City Council has authorized more than $510,000 in purchases of security equipment, tables, dining chairs, barstools and a dance floor for the Regions Arena, AL.com reported. Birmingham-based B.L. Harbert is overseeing the project. The company was awarded a $237.4-million contract in early 2025 to manage construction of the arena. While recent heavy rains caused some damage to materials onsite, they did not cause significant delays to the project, which is operating on a tight timeline ahead of its January 2027 opening. The purchases, approved unanimously by the council, fall within the arena’s budget. The contracts are $360,403 with Utah-based MityLite Inc. for tables, a dance floor, dining chairs, barstools and storage carts and $150,044 with New York-based GXC Inc. for a walkthrough weapons detection system.
