Mobile Community Workshop To Help Update DDD

The City of Mobile is inviting the community to review and help update the Downtown Development District (DDD) code after it was established more than a decade ago. The DDD Update—Community Workshop is set for 6 p.m. on September 2 at the National Maritime Museum of the Gulf in Mobile. “Our downtown area is the gateway to our city, and development within it needs to reflect an urban, walkable and historic character. While the DDD has helped our city planners and developers do just that, we feel like we can improve upon it after more than a decade in use. We are asking citizens and those who live, work, play and invest in downtown to help share these improvements, and this is your chance to be a part of the process,” Mayor Spiro Cheriogotis said. A second engagement period is to follow this fall.
