Mobile County Awards Bids

Call News reported that the Mobile County Commission recently awarded an $815.577.77 bid to Mobile’s John G. Walton Construction Co. for intersection improvements at Airport Boulevard and Eliza Jordan Road, a newer intersection that has seen multiple accidents and congestion. It also awarded a $108,334.50 bid to H.O. Weaver & Sons, Inc., also of Mobile, to resurface streets in Creola. Other approvals included appropriation of $19,000 from District 1 funds for Mobile’s Innovation Portal to create a guide on how to start a food-based business and an agreement with the Mobile County School Board to use the county training school for the opening of Clotilda: The Exhibition taking place at the Africatown Heritage House this weekend.
