Mobile County Housing Grant Survey Open

Mobile County has announced a survey open to residents, organizations that serve the homeless and others through February 14. It encourages answers to the question, “What are our most pressing local needs related to affordable housing, rental assistance, homelessness prevention and shelters?” The Mobile County Commission has received almost $2.2 million from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development through the HOME Investment Partnerships American Rescue Plan Program. Though funded through the American Rescue Plan Act, these funds are separate from Mobile County Commission’s State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds allocation. They may be used to assist individuals or households who are homeless; at risk of homelessness; fleeing domestic violence, sex trafficking or sexual assault; or otherwise facing housing instability as vulnerable populations. The comment period is open through February 14 and will help the commission set its priorities for the use of these funds.
