Mobile Officer Honored At NASCAR Event

MOBILE, Ala — The City of Mobile was represented at the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) Hall of Fame event in Charlotte, North Carolina, by Police Sgt. Jeremy March. March was named 2021 Whelen Everyday Champion for his work to support a young local racecar driver and the continued outreach he does through his nonprofit Copsforkids. Mayor Sandy Stimpson said local revelers might recognize March as “the dancing cop” who has entertained crowds on Royal Street during Mardi Gras for years. “He is both an exemplary officer and an ambassador for police in Mobile and across the country,” Stimpson added. “We are lucky to have him, and we appreciate NASCAR and Whelen for sharing this wonderful story with so many others.”
