Mobile To Build Public Safety Training Center

A new public safety training center is to be built in an undetermined location in Mobile, AL.com reported. The Mobile City Council recently authorized a $997,000 contract with Goodwyn Mills Cawood to design a public safety training complex that would combine the Mobile Police and Fire-Rescue departments’ training programs. In the meantime, the city will look for a location for the facility, expected to be 21,126 ft2 and sit on 8-10 acres. Construction costs are expected to be $13.5 million, for which a source of funding will be sought.
