State Grant to Fund Brookley Aeroplex Expansion

The Mobile Airport Authority (MAA) has been awarded a significant $2-million grant to facilitate the expansion of the Brookley Aeroplex. This funding, part of the State Industrial Development Authority’s broader initiative known as the Site Evaluation and Economic Development Strategy Act, will support the expansion of the Mobile International Airport in Downtown Mobile. Specifically, it will be directed toward acquiring 272 acres from the Mobile Housing Authority for light industrial development. Currently, Breeze Airways plans to expand its services at the airport, with flights to begin on April 10.
