“YES” Program A Success

MOBILE, Ala. — Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson announced that the city council welcomed the latest of bright young men and women joining its YES (Youth Empowered for Success) program on May 31. “These 104 local students will soon be taking paid positions throughout 27 different City departments, which will help them gain valuable work experience and professional skills and our staff fill needed positions,” Stimpson said. Now in its sixth year, the program has grown in scope and impact. Since 2016, more than 2,000 young Mobilians between the ages of 14 and 24 have used YES to be placed in jobs with local companies or city departments.
