Infirmary Health Purchases Building For Regional Facility

Infirmary Health has purchased the approximately 86,000-ft2 former Kohl’s building at Spanish Fort Town Center and plans to redevelop the property into a regional operations and support facility serving locations across its growing healthcare network in South Alabama. The project represents a significant investment in Baldwin County and highlights the continued transformation of Spanish Fort Town Center through the adaptive reuse of existing commercial properties. The redevelopment is to bring new activity to the site while supporting Infirmary Health’s long-term growth and operational needs throughout the region. Spanish Fort Town Center is already home to D.R. Horton’s regional headquarters and office operations in the former JCPenney building. Together, these investments are transforming a portion of the town center into a thriving business park that supports quality jobs, increased daytime population, and expanded opportunities for future development. City leaders and economic development partners believe the project will further position Spanish Fort Town Center as a destination for office, healthcare and commercial investment, creating momentum for additional tenants and redevelopment opportunities throughout the property.
