MCHD Family Health Receives Grant For Cancer Screenings

MOBILE, Ala. — Family Health, the primary care division of the Mobile County Health Department (MCHD), was recently selected by the Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) as a recipient of an “Improving Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Through Health Systems Change” grant. It was one of only three Federally Qualified Health Centers in Alabama to be chosen. The purpose of this grant is to increase breast and cervical cancer screening clinic-level rates and strengthen the delivery of cancer screening services through health systems change. Funding for activities performed under this grant is provided by ADPH’s Bureau of Family Health Services through cooperative agreements with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
