Mobile County Health Department MMU Now In Service

MOBILE, Ala. — The maiden voyage for the Mobile County Health Department and Family Health’s Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) was held this week at the Dotch Community Center as part of a weekly drive-through food giveaway hosted by the Bay Area Women Coalition. Family Health offered free blood pressure checks and handed out giveaway bags with at-home COVID-19 test kits and N95 masks. Those attending the event also had the chance to tour the new MMU, which features a modern medical laboratory and patient examination room. Following this event, Family Health’s MMU will begin traveling throughout Mobile County to provide primary care. The purchase of this MMU was made possible through funding obtained to encourage and increase HIV testing and educational outreaches.
