Urology Associates has announced that Dr. Rachael Sherrer, general urologist, has joined the organization and will see patients in both Fairhope and Foley. She is proficient in treatment of a wide breadth of general urologic conditions, such as kidney stones; urologic malignancies; and benign prostatic hyperplasia, including holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP). Sherrer completed her undergraduate education at The University of Alabama, where, in addition to her premedical studies, she earned a BA in art history. She graduated summa cum laude and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa among numerous academic honors. She went on to obtain her medical degree from The University of Alabama at Birmingham, where her academic and clinical excellence earned her membership in Alpha Omega Alpha. After graduating from medical school, she completed her urology residency at the University of Wisconsin, where she received comprehensive training in urologic surgery. She earned the Ira Sisk Award twice during residency, is a member of the American Urological Association and is board-eligible with the American Board of Urology.
