SMC Names Winners Of Color By Kids Art Competition

Springhill Medical Center (SMC) and the SMH Auxiliary recently honored winners of the 43rd annual Color By Kids Art Competition during a formal reception at the Mobile Museum of Art (MMofA). The art was created by Mobile County public and private school students, along with their art teachers and school faculty. The organization works with accomplished local artists who judge the 150-plus art entries in the four grade categories. All winners received certificates, gift cards for art supplies and checks for their individual schools to support their art programs. The first place winners in each category also received plaques for their schools to display in trophy cases. The competition promotes children’s art in Mobile County and the hospital’s mission to be the best community-centered healthcare provider in the area. Winning artwork has been professionally framed and will be on exhibit this summer at MMofA. It will then travel to the Exploreum to be displayed through May 2027. SMC will prominently display the work in its main lobby for a year. Winning artwork from prior years remains on display throughout the hospital as part of SMC’s permanent collection.
