Thomas Hospital Announces Addition, Retirement

FAIRHOPE, Ala. — Thomas Hospital, an affiliate of Infirmary Health, recently announced that Dr. Paul Glisson has accepted the position of vice president, chief medical officer and assistant chief information officer for Thomas Hospital. Glisson returns to Infirmary Health from Baptist Healthcare in Pensacola, where he most recently served as vice president of medical affairs and quality and chief informatics officer. Glisson succeeds Dr. Michael McBrearty, who recently retired as vice president medical affairs. McBrearty, however, plans to continue to see patients in his private practice. Glisson earned an MBA in healthcare administration in 2008, a PhD in osteopathic medicine from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in 1996 and BS in chemistry from Auburn University in 1992. From 2001 to 2005, Glisson served as Emergency Room medical director for Thomas Hospital.
