Thomas Hospital Earns National Breast Cancer Accreditation

Thomas Hospital has earned accredited status by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), a quality program administered by the American College of Surgeons. The comprehensive breast cancer program at Thomas Hospital is the only NAPBC-accredited program in Baldwin County and is composed of the Breast Center at Thomas Hospital and Infirmary Cancer Care. “NAPBC is the gold standard in breast cancer program accreditation,” Thomas Hospital said. “Accreditation by the NAPBC is granted only to those programs that are committed to providing the best possible care to patients with breast cancer. To achieve voluntary NAPBC accreditation, a breast center demonstrates compliance with the NAPBC standards that address a center’s leadership, clinical services, research, community outreach, professional education and quality improvement for patients.”
