USA Health recently announced that Dr. Hamza Ikrai, a nephrologist with advanced training in kidney disease and transplant nephrology, has joined its growing team of physicians. In that role, he oversaw resident education and scheduling, mentored junior physicians and helped support daily program operations. He went on to complete a nephrology fellowship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, where he cared for patients with acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, electrolyte disorders, dialysis needs and kidney transplants. He subsequently completed a transplant nephrology fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis, further expanding his expertise in the care of kidney transplant recipients and transplant candidates. Ikrai is a member of the National Kidney Foundation, the American Society of Nephrology and the American Society of Transplantation, and he has contributed to research and educational initiatives throughout his training. Ikrai has experience treating acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, electrolyte disorders, kidney failure, kidney stone prevention and more. He is accepting new patients at the Mastin Internal Medicine Clinic at 2451 University Hospital Drive, Suite 102 in Mobile.
