USA Health Adds Neurosurgeon

Dr. Andrew Romeo recently joined USA Health as a neurosurgeon and serves as an assistant professor of neurosurgery at the Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine at the University of South Alabama (USA). Romeo’s focus is on deep brain stimulation (DBS), epilepsy, brain tumors and spinal surgeries. He is board certified in neurosurgery by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons. He received a medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Heersink School of Medicine. Also, at UAB, he completed a neurosurgery residency, followed by a stereotactic and functional neurosurgery fellowship. He has published multiple research articles and was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society in 2011. Romeo is also a member of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons. Before joining USA Health, Romeo served as a neurosurgeon at the Denver DBS Center, where he learned novel techniques and established an epilepsy surgery program at Centura Health.
