USA Health Names Chair of Orthopedic Surgery

James R. Slauterbeck, M.D., has been appointed professor and chair of orthopedic surgery at the University of South Alabama (USA) College of Medicine and will start in January 2021. Slauterbeck, who specializes in sports medicine, is currently a professor at the University of Vermont (UV) Larner College of Medicine’s Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation Center. He has a joint appointment in the Department of Pediatrics in Burlington, Vermont. He also serves as the head team orthopedic surgeon for the UV athletics program.
