Altapointe Health Selected for Mental Health Center

One of the three mental health crisis centers proposed by Governor Kay Ivey during her State of the State address in February will be at AltaPointe Health in Mobile, according AL.com. The centers are intended to stabilize people with mental illness and substance abuse problems and fill gaps in services that sometimes leave few options other than hospital emergency rooms and jails. The center is expected to begin operation in approximately six months and will operate around the clock, 365 days a year, with full-time mobile crisis teams.
