Big Representation For Baldwin County In Cook-Off

The Alabama Seafood Cook-Off, taking place June 12 at 6 p.m. at Zeke’s Restaurant in Orange Beach, will include two local chefs, AL.com reports. Of the four competitors from across the state, two are from Baldwin County. Chef Lawrence Agnew of Jesse’s Restaurant in Magnolia Springs will cook charcoal grilled dry aged swordfish chop, magnolia glazed Bayou Cora nixtamalized hominy and local summer vegetables, and blue crab-stuffed heirloom tomato and bourride butter. Chef Brody Olive of Voyagers at Perdido Beach Resort in Orange Beach will present a “fishing on the rocks, the jetties at Perdido Pass” concept featuring gaff-top catfish smoked over scrub oak coal, flash-fried mole crabs with gulf shrimp horseradish cream, pickled purslane and smoked paprika coral tuile. The winner will receive a $2,500 prize and represent the state in the Great American Seafood Cook-Off later this summer.
