Firehouse Subs Opens In Saraland

Firehouse Subs recently opened its first location in Saraland, locally owned and operated by Franchisees Jim and Jay Chandler (Firehouse Subs Coming to Saraland). Jim Chandler acquired his first three Firehouse Subs restaurants in 2009 in Mobile and has more than 40 years of restaurant industry experience. His son, Jay Chandler, started at his father’s restaurant in 2009 as shift manager before working his way up to general manager and then area supervisor. In May, the two became business partners and co-franchisees. The restaurant décor reflects the chain’s founding family’s decades of firefighting and police service with gear donated by local fire departments. The Saraland location boasts a custom mural by Joe Puskas featuring two firefighters washing a trailer and firetruck outside Saraland Fire Department Station No. 3. The Chandlers plan to share the brand’s commitment to giving back through the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, which granted more than $1.2 million to first responders in Greater Mobile earlier this year.
