Tenants Sought For Hoffman Furniture Redevelopment

Developers are working on a plan to renovate the former Hoffman Furniture building on Dauphin Street in Downtown Mobile, FOX10 News reports. Developer Mike Rogers, president of Rogers & Willard, said the Hoffman estate decided to sell the property separately after a fire in 2023. The first piece, a renovation of the historic Chighizola House, is planned for next year. The house, built between 1847 and 1852, has been on a list of imperiled properties since the 1970s and will be Mobile Bay’s “inspiration home” for 2026. Renovations are expected to be completed in March. Meanwhile, Rogers will tear down one building and restore another on Conti Street. Rogers’ LeMoyne Properties owns a 25% share in the portion of the property where he said he would like to see a hotel.
