Rich Wins National Award

MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. — Mobile County District Attorney Ashley Rich was awarded a 2022 Jackie Lacey Award for Aspiring Women Prosecutors as part of the National District Attorneys Association (NDAA)’s annual recognition of prosecutors who have distinguished themselves among their peers. In 2012, Lacey became the first woman and first African-American to serve as district attorney of Los Angeles, followed by a second term. As a member of NDAA’s Board of Directors, she played the vital roles of founder and first chair of NDAA’s Women Prosecutors Section, the purpose of which is leadership, mentorship and friendship by women prosecutors. The award in her name is presented to a member of NDAA who embodies her ideals of, has chosen a career in public prosecution and represents the tenants of the association’s Women Prosecutors Section and its mission.
