Myer Plans $2.6-Million Expansion

Myer Companies, LLC has announced plans to expand its operations by constructing a modern 10,000-ft2 steel building to house its coatings department at its location on Blackburn Drive in Mobile, the Mobile Chamber announced. Company representatives say the new facility will revolutionize their production by eliminating weather-related challenges in completing painting and blasting projects outdoors, will improve quality and open new markets and opportunities for growth. The $2.6-million expansion is expected to create 26 new full-time jobs over the next three years. Myer plans to break ground on the project in March and begin operations in December. It serves the maritime, dredging, oil and gas, heavy construction, mill/foundries, chemical, power and government/military industries.
