Shipyard Wins Navy Contract

MOBILE, Ala. — Alabama Shipyard, LLC of Mobile recently received an $8.7-million contract from the U.S. Navy for a 75-calendar-day shipyard availability for the Military Sealift Command’s fleet replenishment oiler USNS Laramie, Business Alabama reported. The contract includes a base period and three options, which, if exercised, would bring the contract to $8.8 million. The work, which will be done in Mobile, is to begin in August and be completed by October.
