Calagaz Wins State Small Business Award

Calagaz Printing of Mobile is one of four gold-award winners in the Small Business Awards presented by the Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama and Business Council of Alabama, Business Alabama reports. Winning in the 11-50 employee category, Calagaz was ahead of JNJ Apparel in Tuscaloosa and Induron Protective Coatings in Birmingham, which won silver and bronze in the category, respectively. The award follows Calagaz’s win of the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce’s 2020 Small Business of the Year. This year, the company shifted to medical face shield production, making 250,000 shields at a time when they were greatly needed by healthcare workers (Calagaz is Mobile Chamber’s Business of the Year). It has also been creating thousands of “desk defenders” to keep students safe in the classroom  (Calagaz Now Making Desk Defenders).
