Canfor Southern Pine Opens Sawmill In Axis

Canfor Southern Pine recently opened its advanced sawmill complex in Axis. “This $210-million investment marks a major milestone in Mobile County’s growing economy, retaining 130 jobs while bringing cutting-edge technology and sustainable manufacturing to our region,” the Mobile Chamber said. The facility can produce 250 million board feet per year and features a biomass-fueled lumber drying system to support the company’s sustainability and decarbonization goals.
