Master Boat Builders to Construct Tugboats

Master Boat Builders will build two new tugboats at its Coden shipyard for Bay Houston Towing Co. of Houston, Business Alabama reported. The contract calls for two 85-foot-long tugboats scheduled for delivery beginning in July 2022. Naval architect and marine engineering firm Robert Allan Ltd. of Vancouver is designing the tugboats, which will meet U.S. Coast Guard regulations and be classed through the American Bureau of Shipping. The company will apply its “integrated approach to vessel design, engineering and construction” with a “comprehensive plan to build these new tugboats,” Master Boat Builders President Garrett Rice said.
