Marina, Yacht Club Ceremony Reveals Further Gulf Shores Plans

Legendary Marina & Yacht Club recently held a “topping off ceremony” for its modern marina at 335 Waterway West Boulevard in Gulf Shores along the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway off Waterway Village Boulevard West. According to WKRG, this is just the start of development for “the other coastline of Gulf Shores.” After breaking ground only 18 months ago, the marina will be a first for the city. “We don’t have anywhere really in town [where] you can launch your boat,” Mayor Robert Craft said. “We have a boat ramp here, but there is nowhere here you can store your boat and keep it.” Planned attractions for a nearby “entertainment plaza” include a Margaritaville restaurant, retail shops and other entertainment venues. The first phase, which includes both dry and wet dock storage for boats, is expected to open next year.
