Alabama Media Group To Host Author Event

According to AL.com, Alabama Media Group and Books-A-Million will host a live conversation on March 9 at 6:30 p.m. with current Nieman Fellow and Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist John Archibald to celebrate the launch of his new memoir, Shaking the Gates of Hell: A Search for Family and Truth in the Wake of the Civil Rights Revolution. The virtual event will be hosted by John Hammontree and R.L. Nave, hosts of the award-winning Reckon Interview podcast, and Archibald will be joined in conversation by Dr. Wayne Flynt, professor emeritus in the Department of History at Auburn University. Archibald has written for the Birmingham News since 1986 and became a columnist for the paper in 2004. He was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Commentary in 2017. The book, published by Alfred A. Knopf, is his first.
