Ben May Library To Host Local Author Event

Ben May Main Library’s Bernheim Hall will be hosting “An Evening with Author Gabriella Saab” on January 19 at 6:30 p.m. This event is free and open to all. Saab will deliver a presentation on The Last Checkmate, a novel released in October 2021, as well as her new novel, “Daughters of Victory.” Saab graduated from Mississippi State University with a bachelor’s in business administration in marketing and lives in her hometown of Mobile, where she works as a barre instructor. She is of Lebanese heritage and a cohost of @hfchitchat on Twitter, a recurring monthly chat and community celebrating the love of reading and writing historical fiction. A brief Friends of the Library annual meeting will precede the presentation and include a ceremony of awards to local teenage winners of the Maryln Schwartz Creative Writing Contest. Books will be available for purchase from The Haunted Book Shop, and Saab will be available for signings.
