Ground Clearing To Begin For Baldwin County Career High

Site clearing for the construction of Baldwin County’s new career education high school in Loxley will begin soon, Gulf Coast Media reported. The Baldwin County Board of Education has awarded Triptek Construction of Atmore, Alabama, a $4.76-million contract to prepare a 58.8-acre site for construction. Superintendent of Education Eddie Tyler said awarding a separate contract to prepare the site will allow some work to begin while plans for the facility are being completed. The school will be a training facility for students preparing for careers in manufacturing, medicine and other fields. It will also house special equipment to train students for a variety of in-demand careers. School officials plan to solicit bids to build the center in spring 2022 in preparation for an August 2024 opening.
